i took 2/3 of 1/2 which is a third and then added the third and half to get 5/6 ths.. i can not figure out how to come up with 7/10 ths. trying to go back to school and this is on the practice test they give you

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I agree with your line of thought and with the answer you got. There must be an error
in the book (or practice test). They either printed a wrong answer, or they didn't give
you the correct information in the problem.

I wouldn't waste any more time on it. You understood how to solve the problem and that's
the important thing here.
