You can put this solution on YOUR website!
51 inch board to three pieces.
Piece two is 2 x piece one.
Piece three is three inches longer than the first piece.
----
Let the length of the first piece (in inches) be x, the length of the second piece be 2x, and the length of the third piece be x+3.
----
x%2B2x%2B%28x%2B3%29=51
4x%2B3=51
4x=51-3
4x=48
Therefore: x=12
----
Now substitute x=12 into the other two lengths.
Piece DISABLED_event_one= x
=12 inches
Piece two = 2x
=2(12)
24 inches
Piece 3 = x+3
=12 + 3
=15 inches.
----
Therefore, pieces one, two, and three are 12, 24, and 15 inches long, respectively.
