: I need help setting up this problem, if I can figure out how to set it up I can solve it. Here is the problem:
In a city of 25,000 homes, a survey was taken to determine the number with cable television. Of the 300 homes surveyed, 210 had cable television. Estimate the number of homes on the city that have cable television.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a city of 25,000 homes, a survey was taken to determine the number with cable television. Of the 300 homes surveyed, 210 had cable television. Estimate the number of homes on the city that have cable television.

Set up a proportion involving the sample and the population, as follows:
210/300=x/25000
x=(210/300)*25000
x=17500 (Estimated number of homes in the city that have cable television.)
