The length of a rectangle is 2 inches more than twice its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 34, find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Let the width be "w"
Then the length is "2w+2"
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
34=2(w+2w+2)
17=3w+2
15=3w
w=5 (width is 5 inches)
length = 2w+2=12 inches
