Question 418472: Two men, working together, can do a job in 20 days. After both have been working 10 days, one man quits. The other man finishes the job in 12 more days. How many days would each man have needed to do the job alone?

I know that the formula (t/a + t/b =1) should be used but im not sure how to use it. I think the problem should go something like 10/20+12/x=1 but again i am not sure

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Go with your instinct, Miss. The very last equation you wrote is correct, so just solve for x. Then proceed to solve for the other variable y in 1%2Fx+%2B+1%2Fy+=+1%2F20. Good luck on the GMAT!
