Question 413417: In baseball a player's batting average is the ratio of hits to the number of times he or she has batted. Thus, if the player has an average of .300, it means he or she got 300 hits in 1000 at bats. In order to have an average of .300, how many hits would the batter have to get in 400 times at bat?
I don't know for sure how to set this problem up.
Thanks alot for your help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's easy
:
x%2F400 = .300
Multiply both sides by 400
x = 400 * .300
x = 120; He has to have 120 hits to have .300 batting average with 400 at bats
