Let 8:00 AM be 0+and count all time in minutes.
11:00 would be 180 (3%2A60).
Let's say the time now is X minutes after 11:00 AM or 180%2BX.
Two hours ago it was 180%2BX-120=60%2BX.
Two hours ago it was also 3X%2B0=3X, "three times as many minutes past 8 a.m."
So then,
3X=60%2BX
2X=60
X=30
It's now 11:30 AM.
Two hours ago it was 9:30 AM or 90 minutes after 8:00 AM.
