You can put this solution on YOUR website! Popcorn is sold in two sizes. Large at $2 and Giant at $3.The student's popcorn sales were $51.They sold 20 bags in all.How many giant bags were sold?
Let number of large bags sold be "x"
Then number of giant bags sold must be "20-x"
Value of the large bags is 2x dollars
Value of the giant bags is 3(20-x)= 60-3x dollars
EQUATION:
value + value = 51 dollars
2x+60-3x=51
-x=-9
x=9 (number of large bags sold)
20-x=11 (number of giant bags sold)
