You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A man is pedaling his bike across a narrow bridge when he hears a train approaching from behind at 60 mph. if he is 3/8 of the way across the bridge and able to just reach either end of the bridge at the same time as the train, how fast can he pedal his bike?
:
Looking at the situation, we can see that the train will enter the bridge when
the man travels 3/8 of the distance from the point that is already 3/8 from the
end, he will then be 6/8 (3/4) from the train as it enters the bridge.
He will have to travel 1/4 while the train travels the whole distance
therefore bike will have to go 1/4(60) = 15 mph
