The number either begins with 7 or 8
If the tens digit is 7, the units digit is 4 or less
If the tens digit is 8, the units digit is 3 or less
and
If the product of the digits, the tens digit can't be 8,
since 8%2A3+=+24 is the most the product can be
and
George's number must be 74, since 7%2A4+=+28
which is OK, and 7%2A3+=+21 which fails the 2nd test
