Question 316887: Jenny has bought a new condo. The closing date has been set for 45 days from today. The builder estimates that the remaining work on the condo will take about 750 hours to complete. Write a formula that will determine the number of people the builder must hire to complete the job in 45 days if each worker can work no more than 40 hours each week.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let n = number of workers needed to finish job in 45 days
I'll try to get everything in terms of hours.
A 40 hr week is 8 hrs /day, since
40%2F5+=+8
45 days is 45%2A8+=+360 hrs to meet deadline
Each worker needs to work 750%2Fn hrs
I can say that the rate of n workers working together
must equal 1 house done in 360 hrs
n%2F%28750%2Fn%29+=+1%2F360
n+=+750%2F%28360n%29
n%5E2+=+2.0833
n+=+1.443
2 workers are needed. This is just a stab at it.
I'm not sure, and you should get another opinion, too
