If the equation is x equal to a constant, that means that the set of ordered pairs that satisfy the equation are all of the form (a, y) where a is the constant and y can be any value whatsoever. What sort of line would be formed by such a set of points?
Try it out for yourself. Let a equal some arbitrary value, say 2. Then form a couple of points of the form (2,y) where y is some value you choose. Plot the points and draw a line through them. What sort of a line is it?
