If 625 pages of a book are 2.0 inches thick, what is the thickness of 5 pages in microns?

Step 1. Conversions: 100 cm = 1m =1 million microns and 1 inch = 2.54 cm or 2.54 cm/in * 1*10^6 microns/(100 cm)= 2.54%2A10%5E4 microns/inch

Step 2. 2/625 will give thickness in inches/page

Step 3. (2/625)*5 will give thickness in inches for 5 pages

Step 4. %282%2F625%29%2A5%2A%282.54%2A10%5E2%29 will convert the thickness of 5 pages from inches to microns.

Step 5. The above result will then yield the following:

2 in * 2.54cm/in = 5.08 cm = 0.0508 meters
1 micron = 1E-6 meters
2 in = 0.0508*1E6 microns
2 in = 5.08E4 microns = 625 pages
5 pages --> 5.08E4*5/625
5 pgs = 0.04064E4 microns
5 pgs = 4.064E2 microns = 406.4 microns
