You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A college stdent has finished 48 credit hours with a GPA of 2.75. To get into the program she wishes to enter, she must have a GPA of 3.2. How many additional credit hours of 4.0 work will raise her GPA to 3.2?
----------------------
Total # of points = 2.75*48 = 132
---------------------------------------
Let x be the number of credit hours needed to average 3.2.
Equation:
(132+4x)/(48+x) = 3.2
132+4x = 3.2(48+x)
132+4x = 153.6 + 3.2x
0.8x = 21.6
x = 27
