Question 198293: (This problem is not from a textbook, and I don't know the exact numbers. So if you could just tell me the basic way or formula to figure it out that would be amazing!)
Let's say your going shopping, there are 3 different types of seeds each at a certain price per pound:
Black Seeds: $1.08 per lb.
Purple Seeds: $2.35 per lb
Blue seeds: $1.89 per lb
You have a certain set of money: $25
You need to find how many pounds of each type of seed you would need to buy to get exactly $25 (or the set number). And you have to buy it buy the whole pound, like a prepackaged object.
I encountered a question like this on a test and have no idea how to do it.
Thank you so much for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There's a few problems here:

1) No matter what combinations of the items you buy, you will not get to $25 exactly. The closest I got was $25.03

2) From this problem, I could only draw out one equation. However, there are 3 variables (which means that you need two more equations)

Did you post the whole problem?
