Then I have to solve for l and R.

Solving for l:
Raise both sides to the (1/2R) power to get:
l = p^(1/2R)
---------------
Solving for R:
Take the log of both sides to get:
2R*logl = logP
Divide both sides by 2logl to get:
R = [logP]/[2logl]
