You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let number of adult tickets sold be x
Number of student tickets will be 3x
Total tickets sold = 320
x+3x=320
4x=320
x=320/4
x=80 Number of adult tickets
Remaining tickets from total were student tickets

            It can be solved mentally.

According to the problem, we can group the tickets in sets,
combining one adult ticket with three student tickets.

Each group contains 4 = 3+1 tickets, so the number of groups is 320/4 = 80,
and each group has exactly one adult ticket.

From it, we conclude, that the number of adult tickets was 80. ANSWER

Solved mentally, without using equations.
