.

Let x be the initial volume of water in Tank B.

Then initial volume in Tank A was 4x.

The equation is

    4x - 1.485 = x + 1.485       liters

    3x = 1.485 + 1.485 = 2.970   liters

     x = 2.970/3  = 0.99         liters

ANSWER. At the end, tank A contained  4x-1.485 = 4*0.99-1.485 = 2.475 liters = 2 liters and 475 milliliters.

         At the end, tank B contained the SAME amount of water, as tank A contained at the end, i.e. 2 liters and 475 milliliters.
