Question 1130671: A tank has an inlet which 4 gallons, 2 quarts enter per hr., and outlet which 2 gal, 1 quart, 1 pint per hr. exit. Tank has capacity of 84 gal. Find time tank is filled.
4 gal. 2 qts. = 4.5 gal.
2 gal., 1 qt., 1 pt. = 2.625 gal.
Inlet - 4.5 gal. / hr.
Outlet - 2.625 gal. / hr.
4.5 - 2.625 = 84
Not sure how to solve. Non-homework.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
The idea is to find the net inflow rate as the difference of the inflow rate and outflow rate,
and then to divide the total volume of the tank by the net inflow rate.
On the way, you must to convert input data to uniform (consistent) units.
