Question 1070788: Suppose you want to install a carpet in a room that measures 18 feet by 22 feet. The carpet you wants costs $28.50 per square yards and comes only in rolls that are 12 feet wide (and at least 100 feet long). If you allow only one seam (where two pieces of carpet meet), what is the most efficient way to lay the carpet and how much will the carpet cost?
I have been stumped on this question for 2 days now and I cant seem to grasp it. Can someone please help me solve this?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Suppose you want to install a carpet in a room that measures 18 feet by 22 feet. The carpet you wants costs $28.50 per square yards and comes only in rolls that are 12 feet wide (and at least 100 feet long). If you allow only one seam (where two pieces of carpet meet), what is the most efficient way to lay the carpet and how much will the carpet cost?
=============
You have to have 2 pieces.
They can be 22' long, or 18' long.
18' long costs less.
