You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Lets deal in inches to make things simple to start with:
Let x=Dana's adult height
4ft 8in=48+8=56in--------------Dana's height at the age of 10
Now we are told that:
56 in is 84.4% of x------------So:
0.844x=56 divide both sides by 0.844
x=66.3507 in-----------------------Dana's adult height
66.3507/12=5.529 ft or 5ft 6.3in
NOW LETS LOOK AT IT YOUR WAY:
Her adult height (x) minus her height at 10 years old (56) equals = the amount that she grew and that equals 15.6% of her adult height
x-56=0.156x and this turns out to be the same equation as before
Hope this helps------ptaylor
