Question 1016006: Suppose you go to a concert and purchase 3 identical T-shirts and a hat. The hat costs $21 and you spend $60 in all. How much does each T-shirt cost?

I need the equation for this. We've been working on distributive property and I may sound stupid for this because it's probably really simple, but I can't figure out the equation and I need help. I know how to do the work, all I need is the equation. Please try to respond as soon as possible.

T-shirt_cost = %2860+-+21%29%2F3 = 39%2F3 = 13 dollars.

Let the cost of each T-shirt be T
After purchasing the hat, you're left with $39 (60 - 21)
Since you bought 3 T-shirts, then you paid 3T for them
You also spent the left-over amount ($39) on the T-shirts
We then have the equation: highlight%28highlight_green%28highlight%283T+=+39%29%29%29
