You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A solid cube with edge of length 10cm is dropped beneath the surface of the water in a cylindrical water tank that has a circular base of 1 square metre. Find the resulting increase in the height of the water level in cm.
-----------
The volume of the cube is 1000 cc = 0.001 cubic meter
---
The volume of water in the cylinder = BA*h (base area * height)
Vol after = Vol + 0.001 cubic meter
0.001 = BA*change in height
Change = 0.001 meter = 1 millimeter
= 0.1 cm
