• c)If each characteristic is equally likely, find the probability that the pea plant will have round peas.
• d)Determine the probability that the pea plant will be short, have wrinkled seeds, have yellow seeds, and have purple flowers.

ANSWER:
There are 36 cards greater then 5
= 36/52
= This means that 36/52 reduces to 9/13
What are the odds in favor 36:52 or 9:13
What are the odds against 52:36 or 13:9

Question 325212: Can anyone help me figure this out? A tennis ball can in the shape of a right circular cylinder holds three balls snugly, if the radius of a tennis ball is 3.5cm, what percentage of the can is occupied by air?
I know the radius of the ball so I can figure the area of the top and bottom of the cylinder: a = pi r^ so a= 3.14 (3.5)^ = 3.14 x 12.12 = 38.465
I can also figure the area of a sphere for the balls: pi r cubed
3.14(3.5)cubed = 3.14 x 42.875 = 134.6275
for three balls they're taking up 403.8825 space in the can.
I need the height of the can to figure total volume of the can to subtract the amount the balls take up but I'm not sure how to come up with that?
Any help would be appreciated!!

Question 325207: Can anyone help me with this word problem? I've got two freezers one measures 1.5ft x 1.5ft x 5ft and sales for $350 another for 2ft x 2ft x 4ft and sales for $400. Which is a better buy in terms of dollars per cubic foot?
Any help would be appreciated!
I multiplied the space and divided by the dollar amt:
1.5 x 1.5 x 5 = 11.25 / 350 = 0.032
2 x 2 x 4 = 16 / 400 = 0.04
not sure if this is right?

I have a right square pyramid with the height of 148m and a square base with a perimeter of 940m and another right square pyramid with a square base with a perimeter of 140m and height of 260m, which has the greater volume and by how many times as great?
V- 1/3 bh, right? I have the perimeter so for each, I would multiply that by the height then divide by 3?

I have gotten as far as this:
12^2 + b^2 = (b + 8)^2
144 + b^2 = b^2 16b + 64
16b = 144 - 64
16b = 80
then what do I do?
