Question 321129: flat-panel monitor are such that its length is 3 in. more than its width. If the length were doubled and if the width were decreased by 1 the area would be increased by 150 in. squared. What are the length and width of the flat panel.
This is from beginning algebra book tenth edition, chapter 6.6 applications of quadratic equations. Do I need to solve this problem with the formula P=2L+2W or A=LW, then move into standard form. Once it's in standard form I can figure out the problem. Please Help! Not sure how to write out the problem.
