Question 1084976: Hi! Can you please help me to answer this question?
My husband and I have been looking for houses, and the dimensions of the lot are often given on the housing information sheet. Once the information sheet stated that the lot was 1.0 acres (1 acre = 43560 ft2) and that the shape of the lot was IRR, or irregular. When we got to the property, the four corners of the lot were marked off. Two sides of the lot met at a right angle and measured 180 feet and 240 feet. The other side, adjacent to the 180-foot side, was 200 feet. Unfortunately, the information sheet didn’t give the length of the fourth side of the lot, but we could see approximately how long it was, and when I got home I figured out what it was to the nearest tenth of a foot.
What was the answer that I got? Provide a diagram and show your work.
