Question 996016: Please help me solve this question: A square rug measures 6 feet wide. What is the length of the diagonal? Answer by addingup(3677) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Pythagoras:
The length of the hypotenuse equals the square root of the sums of the squares of the sides.
When you bisect a square you get two triangles where the diagonal is the hypotenuse. Therefore:
6^2+6^2= 72
√72= 8.49 is your answer
