Daniel is 6 feet tall and cast shadow of 3.5 feet long. If his daughter is 4 feet tall, how long will her Shadow be?
--------
Use a proportion::
shadow/height = shadow/height
s/4 = 3.5/6
s = (2/3)3.5
s = 2.3333

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

For the given conditions, the proportion is held

6%2F3.5 = 4%2Fx,

where  x  is the daughter's shadow length in feet.
(The proportion is based on similarity of right-angled triangles "the person - the person's shadow" for Daniel and for his daughter).

From the proportion

x = %283.5%2A4%29%2F6 = 2.3333333 ft.

Answer.  The daughter is  2.3333333 ft tall.
