You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A cylindrical tank with horizontal axis has a radius of 1m and 6 m long. If it is filled with gasoline to a depth of 1.3m, determine the volume of the gasoline in the tank.
----------------
r = 1
h = 1.3
Vol = Area of the segment * length
------
Area = r^2*acos(1 - h/r) - (r-h)*sqrt(2rh - h^2)
Obvious, right?
--------------
= 1*acos(1 - 1.3) - (-0.3)*sqrt(2.6 - 1.69)
= acos(-0.3) + 0.3*sqrt(0.91)
=~ 1.8755 + 0.2862
= 2.161 sq meters
-------------
Vol = 6*Area
= 12.966 cubic meters
