By what percentage does the volume of the can increase from the smaller can to the larger can? Round your answer to the nearest percent.

V = pi%2Ar%5E2%2Ah
If you increase the diameter by 10%, you also increase the radius by 10%
Assume the radius is 1, then if it is increased by 10% it will 1.1
Note that in the volume equation, the radius is squared therefore it will be
1.1^2 which equals 1.21; that is an increase in volume of 21%

Let's prove that. let the radius = 10 and h = 20, find the volume
V = pi%2A10%5E2%2A20 = 6283 cu/cm
Now increase the radius by 10%, then the radius = 11, h is still 20
V = pi%2A11%5E2%2A20 = 7603 cu/cm
Find the increase in volume
7603 - 6283 = 1320 cu/cm increase
Find the percent increase
1320%2F6283 * 100 = 21%
