Luke's bedroom is half as big as most people's houses!
area = length * width
l = w + 1.5
540 = w(w+1.5)
540 = w%5E2+1.5w
0 = w%5E2+1.5w-540
Factor:
(w+24)(w-22.5)
Since a measurement is a positive value, we'll use 22.5
width = 22.5. The length is 1.5 longer than that, or 24
22.5 * 24 = 540
