Question 850599: A forester is estimating the amount of lumber contained in a tree. When she stands 35 feet away from the tree, the angle to the top of the tree is 54 as measured from her eye-level height, 6 feet above ground. What is the height of the tree to the nearest foot?
Thank you! Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! To find height of tree use trigonometric ratios.
tan 54 = Opposite (tree height)/ Adjacent 35 ft (distance from tree)
Height of tree = tan (54) * 35
Height of tree = 48.2 feet.
****Then add the forester's 6ft height
Total tree height = 54 feet.
Hope this helps.
