If you turn up 3 feet, then the depth of the box has to be 3 feet, so the area of the bottom of the box is 243 cubic feet divided by 3 ft. The square root of the area of the bottom of the box is the dimension of the square bottom of the box, which is 6 feet shorter than the original piece of square metal.
