Question 764651: the angle between the string attached to a flying kite and the ground is 70 degrees how far above the ground in feet is the kite if 245 ft of string has been let out Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Consider this a right angled triangle.
String = Hypotenuse.
Height the kite is above the ground = Opposite side.
Using Sin ratio
Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse
Sin(70) = Opposite/245ft
Opposite = 245 * sin(70)
Opposite = 230.23ft
This is the height the kite is above the ground.
Hope this helps.
