Question 73603: A party of 8 people ordered a large round pizza. The waiter a real show-off divided it into 8 equal pieces with only 3 straight cuts of the knife. How did he do this? Answer by joyofmath(189) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Slice the pizza in half. That's the first cut and you have two identical slices, each half the size of the pizza.
Slice the pizza in half again, with this cut perpendicular to the first cut. That's the second cut and you now have four identical slices.
Stack the four slices, one on top of another. Make the third cut over the middle of the four slices. Now you have eight identical slices.
