Question 733496: Using the pythagorean theorem what if a rectangular sign with the length of 10 feet and a Width of 24 feet what is its diagonal ? Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The Pythagorean theorem states that the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.....for a rectangle the hypotenuse is the diagonal, therefore we have
diagonal squared = 10 squared + 24 squared = 100 + 576 = 676
we now take the square root of 676 to find the length of the diagonal which is 26 feet
