You can put this solution on YOUR website! A rectangular solid has a base with length 10 cm and width 9 cm. If the volume of the solid is 270 cm^3, find the height of the solid. (They gave a hint: The volume of a rectangular solid is given by V = LWH)
:
That's good hint, you have:
10 * 9 * h = 270
90h = 270
h = 270/90; divided both sides by 90
h = 3 cm
:
check: 10 * 9 * 3 = 270
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi Lisa,
A rectangular solid has a base with length 10 cm and width 9 cm. If the volume of the solid is 270 cm^3, find the height of the solid. (They gave a hint: The volume of a rectangular solid is given by V = LWH)
Solve the formula they gave you for H
Let V=270 cm^3, L=10 cm, and W=9 cm
(You can leave the cm's out during the equation if it's confusing, but don't forget that height would be measured in cm's and include that in your answer. 3 without cm is meaningless.
Happy Calcualting, Lisa!!!
