Question 512706: please help me tutor! and could you please show me how you got the answer so i know how to do the next problem like this in the future.
i made a pot of sour lemon milk for four people using one quart of milk and 2.8 oz of lemon pulp. Now Scales likes extra lemon in his milk, so he added .5 oz pulp to his glass. Now how much lemon pulp is in Scales glass?
Now a plain everyday cloak costs $4.70 and a fancier model costs $5.50, Mummy Woman is always telling me to splurge on myself because i deserve it. So, how much more money will i need for the fancy cloak if ive already collected 18 bottles to recycle for $.20 each?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Unusual problems here
:
made a pot of sour lemon milk for four people using one quart of milk and 2.8 oz of lemon pulp.
If you mixed in 2.8 oz into the milk and divided it between 4 people:
2.8/4 = .7 oz of pulp for each person
then
Now Scales likes extra lemon in his milk, so he added .5 oz pulp to his glass. Now how much lemon pulp is in Scales glass?
His glass will have .7 oz of pulp like the other three, however if you add .5 oz, of more pulp to his glass: .7 + .5 = 1.2 oz of pulp for Scales

I am assuming you wish to obtain $5.50 for the fancy cloak,
Your collection of bottles: 18 * .20 = $3.60
therefore
5.50 - 3.60 = $1.90 the amount you need to get the fancy cloak
