Let the tyre revolves 'n' times in the distance 100 miles.

In each revolution of the tyre, the car moves a distance equal to the circumference of the tyre.
So if the diameter of the tyre be 'd' inches then in 1 revolution the car moves pi%2Ad inches.
Hence in 'n' revolutions the car will move n%2Api%2Ad inches.

Here d = 14, so in 'n' revolutions the car will move n%2A%2822%2F7%29%2A14+=+44n inches.

As the car travels 100 miles in 'n' revolutions of the wheel so this distance 44n inches must be equal to (100 x 5280 x 12 =) 6336000 inches
So 44%2An+=+6336000
or n+=+6336000%2F44+=+144000

So the reqd. no. of revolutions of the wheel is 144000.
