Question 407531: if one side of a square box is 2 feet 4 inches what is the perimeter of the box?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simply add the given dimension to itself 4 times to get

  2 feet 4 inches
  2 feet 4 inches
  2 feet 4 inches
+ 2 feet 4 inches
-----------------
  8 feet 16 inches

But since 12 inches = 1 ft, this means that 8 ft 12 inches = 8 ft + 1 ft + 4 inches = 9 ft 4 inches

So the perimeter of the square is 9 ft 4 inches.
