total width = 5+2x
total length = 8+2x

Total area = (5+2x)(8+2x)
=40+10x+16x+4x^2
=4x^2+26x+40

Total area - picture area = area of frame
4x^2+26x+40 -40=114
4x^2+26x-154=0
