Question 3409: I feel stupid. A friend asked for help solving the below question, but I haven't had math in a while and am not sure of my answer. Here goes...
A sailboat is 120ft from the shore. The lighthouse is 60ft from the shore. The lighthouse is 75ft tall. How deep is the water?
Thanks in advance.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
re-writing something as 2 things multiplied.

so, factorise 10: you could answer 1x10 or 2x5 or 4x2.5 etc etc
Factorise 88: 1x88 or 8x11 or 2x4x11 or 2x2x2x11 etc

Factorise 10+4x --> 2(5+2x), so the factors are 2 and (5+2x), since these do multiply to give the polynomial in the question.

Ok?
