Let's first represent the width as "x" and the length as "2x". Now we can set up an equation.
x+x+2x+2x=240 Combine like terms to give us:
6x=240 Divide both sides by 6 to be:
x=40
Now we have the width which is 40 inches and the width, I'll let you figure that out.
