Question 253941: Please help! I really don't understand this!
a sheet of cardboard is made such that the length is 3 times the width. Equal-sized squares measuring 5 inches on a side will be cut from the corners so that the resulting piece if cardboard can form an open box by folding up the flaps. If the volume of the box is to be 8125in^3 , what should the original dimensions of the card be??
All I assumed was that the length is x and the width is 3x...Im not sure...
