You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The length of the sides of triangle are in the rtio of 3 to 5 to 6. if the perimeter of the triangle is 70, what is the length f the longest side?

We know there is a constant k that we can multiply each of those three
numbers, 3, 5, and 6 by such that their sum which will be the perimeter,
will be 70, so we have this equation:

Smallest side = 3k
Medium-sized side = 5k
Largest side = 6k

3k%2B5k%2B6k=70

Can you solve that? If so, you get

14k+=+70
k=5

Smallest side = 3k = 3(5) = 15
Medium-sized side = 5k = 5(5) = 25
Largest side = 6k = 6(5) = 30

Perimeter = 15 + 25 + 30 = 70

You wanted the longest side, so the answer is 30.
