180-x = the supplement
The equation:
Sum of the complement and the supplement is 194 degrees.
90-x + 180 - x = 194
270 - 2x = 194
Subtract 270 from each side:
270-270 - 2x = 194 - 270
-2x = -76
Divide both sides by -2:

Check:
Comlement = 90-38 = 52
Supplement = 180-38 = 142
52 + 142 = 194
