Step 1. Area A of a triangle is given as A=bh%2F2 where b is the base and h is the height.

Step 2. Then A=42=12h%2F2.

Step 3. Solving for h yields the following steps

Divide by 6 to both sides of the equation

42=6h

42%2F6=6h%2F6

h=7
