Step 2. Let pi%2Ad be the circumference of the wheel for one revolution

Step 3. Note 1 mile = 5280 feet

Step 4. Then 1 mile = 5280 ft= 600*pi*d since 600 revolutions occur in one minute.

Step 5. Solving for d=5280%2F%28600%2Api%29=2.80 feet

Step 6. ANSWER: The diameter of the wheel is 2.80 feet.
