You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The lengths of the sides of a triangle are consecutive even integers.find the length of the longest side if it is 22 units shorter than the perimeter
---------------
1st 2x
2nd 2x+2
3rd 2x+4
-------------------
Equation:
2x+4 = (2x + 2x+2 + 2x + 4) -22
2x+4 = 6x + 6 -22
4x = 20
x = 5
---------
2x = 10
2x+2 = 12
2x+4 = 14

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle always exceeds the length of the third side.

Let the longest side be x
x%2B22=x%2B%28x-2%29%2B%28x-4%29
x%2B22=3x-6
22%2B6=3x-x
28=2x
14=x
If the longest side is x=14, than the other two sides arex1=12 and x2=10
So, the perimeter is
P=10%2B12%2B14
P=36…so,the longest side +x=14 is 22+units shorter than the perimeter
