1. let's first get square footage of the room: 120+inches+%2810feet%29%2A144+inches+%2812feet%29+=+17280+square+inches
Then, they're using a tile with 64 square inches area, as per given 8 inches square (area 8x8).
So total consumed tiles will be 17,280/64=270 tiles*0.48cents/tile = $129.60 the total cost to tile the floor.
2. 3000meter=3km/5km per hour = 0.6 hour*60min/hr = 36 minutes to complete the race
